Our alumnus Kuan-Chuan Lu, who studied and graduated from our undergraduate department and the Graduate Institution of Elder Education, has applied the theories of adult and education for the elderly to interpersonal communication, trainings and proposals and community management. In 2014, he became a member of the Taichung City Gong Lao Ping Industrial Department Association. In 2016 he became the president of the association. Since then the forum of the community takes place every Tuesday, where young people can interact with the elderly, cheers up the community and brings everyone together. He also leads the residents in the community to take course and practices, develops local industries and therefore increases their revenue. Besides, Lu actively promotes the agricultural produce and generates revenue by holding activities and picnics in local villages that attract one-thousand participants. Recently, he largely launches charity events with a surplus contributed by the industries in the community and was awarded the Taiwan Rural Elite in 2019.
