[ACE Announcement] Guidelines for Master’s Thesis Advisor Application (Academic Year 2025)

Department of Adult and Continuing Education, National Chung Cheng University

The application period for selecting a Master’s thesis advisor for the 2025 Academic Year is scheduled from mid-March to early June. Please read the following guidelines carefully:

I. List of Available Faculty (12 Full-time Professors)

Prof. Li-Hui Lin, Prof. Meng-Jing Hu, Prof. Hui-Juan Wei, Prof. Jin-Shan Huang, Prof. Ai-Tzu Li, Prof. Yu-Shu Chen, Prof. Ya-Hui Li, Prof. Wen-Bin Kao, Prof. Yu-Ching Chen, Prof. Wei-Ni Wang, Prof. Hsuan-An Pan, and Prof. Hung-Hui Pan.

II. Application Timeline & Eligibility

  • Forms Available: Starting March 11.
  • Submission Period: Starting March 23.
  • Deadline: All applications must be submitted to the Department Office no later than June 3 (If the deadline falls on a holoday, it will be extended to the next nusiness day).
  • Eligibility: Students who have completed at least one semester of coursework and have not yet been assigned an advisor.

III. Application Requirements

  • The application form must include the application date and the proposed thesis research direction/topic.
  • Note: Incomplete applications will not be accepted.
  • The form must be signed and dated by the intended advisor to indicate their consent.
  • Finality: Once the application is completed and submitted, students may not unilaterally revoke or re-file the application.

IV. Advisor Quota Regulations

To ensure the quality of supervision, each professor has a maximum capacity for new advisees:

  • General Master’s Students: 2–3 students.
  • Executive Master’s (In-service) Students: 2–3 students.
  • Total Capacity: Maximum of 5 students per professor.
  • Note: Quotas for different tracks (General vs. Executive) are non-transferable.

V. Status Updates & Processing

  • Mid-term Update: From April 20 to April 24, the Department Office will announce the current application status, showing the remaining vacancies for each professor.
  • Quota Verification: The office will verify the student count for each advisor. If a professor's quota is exceeded, applications will be prioritized based on the chronological order of submission (date and time of receipt).
  • Resubmission: Students whose applications are returned due to exceeded quotas will be provided with a new application form.

Note: In case of any discrepancy or dispute, the Chinese version shall prevail.
