Students must complete a minimum of 32 credits for the entire program. Among these, it is required to select 2 courses from the Research and Application Courses, select 2 courses from the Theory and Practice Courses, select 2 to 3 recommended courses from the Core Courses, and select 5 recommended courses from the Professional Development Courses.
Master's students in this department (excluding students in the In-service Master's Program) must complete a 2-credit practicum course. The regulations for the practicum are formulated separately.
The maximum credit limit for first-year Master's students is 12 credits per semester.
Master's students are not permitted to enroll in Ph.D.-level courses, but may take joint Master's/Ph.D. courses.
General Master's students must take no less than 6 credits per semester during their first academic year, and no less than 4 credits of departmental courses in the first semester of their second academic year.
Cross-enrollment between students of the Master's Program in Adult Education taking courses in the Master's Program in Senior Education, and vice versa, is considered "cross-class enrollment within the department," not out-of-institute enrollment.
Graduate students (in principle, limited to those in their second year of the Master's program or above) may take relevant courses not offered by this department at other institutes (or other universities); however, students admitted through the Five-Year Integrated Bachelor-Master Degree Program are not subject to this restriction.
The maximum number of recognized credits for out-of-institute (or out-of-university) elective courses (including inter-university elective credits) is capped at 6 credits. This requires the approval of the student's advisor and must be applied for within the designated add/drop period.
When taking out-of-institute (or out-of-university) elective courses, students must submit the course selection form to the department assistant for verification within one week after the add/drop period. The selection will only become effective after being reviewed and approved by the advisor and the Institute Director.
