[2026 Award Results] The 2nd “Designing Future Living in a Super-Aged Society: College Future Talks” Innovation Competition 📣

As Taiwan enters a super-aged society, the Department of Adult and Continuing Education at National Chung Cheng University (CCU) held the 2nd “Designing Future Living in a Super-Aged Society: College Future Talks” Innovation Competition (2026) on September 18, 2026. Centered on young people’s innovative perspectives, practical action, and care for local communities, the competition sought fresh solutions to the challenges of population ageing. This year’s event featured two tracks, a Proposal Design Competition and a Short Video Competition, and drew enthusiastic participation from students and teams at colleges and universities across Taiwan. Their work demonstrated the new generation’s boundless imagination and ability to act on the future of ageing.

Prof. Lin Li-Hui, Chair of the Department of Adult and Continuing Education, noted that as Taiwan has officially become a super-aged society, the competition aims to help young people recognize changes in the social structure and turn those insights into innovative, actionable solutions, so that they can lead future social change.

The competition focused on developing young people’s skills in design thinking, digital communication, and cross-disciplinary integration, encouraging them to explore the daily needs of older adults, promote intergenerational exchange, and open new opportunities for applying technology.

Competition in this year’s Proposal Design track was fierce. After a rigorous preliminary review, 19 outstanding teams advanced to the final round, where they gave public presentations and were evaluated on site. The organizers invited leading experts from academia and industry to serve as judges. Their in-depth, practice-oriented feedback helped build a bridge between young people’s creativity and real-world social resources.

In addition to the competition, the event featured a special lecture by Sun Yu-Ching of “Chiayi Outsider,” a cultural curation and regional revitalization brand. Drawing on her experience in career exploration and cross-disciplinary practice, the speaker delivered an inspiring talk that gave students a frontline industry perspective on the possibilities of an active-ageing society and shared local prosperity.

The name “College Future Talks” reflects young people’s courage and ambition to speak up for the society of the future and their active engagement with public affairs. Event organizer Asst. Prof. Pan Xuan-An said, “We created this platform for practice to help students turn their ideas into design actions and digital creations and to take on the real challenges of a super-aged society. Promoting intergenerational inclusion cannot be a mere formality. It is a sustainable social movement that must begin in the education system and take root from the ground up.”
