Feature: 2020 Active Aging Learning Conference Held in Responding to Social Phenomenon in Pandemics

The Department of Adult and Continuing Education took place the “Post-Pandemics, Active Aging New Life” conference on the 12th and 13th of November 2020. The followings are the highlights: (1) The countries and cities awarded Excellence from active aging learning policy visiting in 2020 were invited to share their experiences and methods to execute and promote active aging learning. (2) One active aging learning university and 7 active aging learning centers shared the features of their works in four seminars. The organizer meanwhile designed online interactive word cloud with Wooclap for instant learning experience. (3) To respond to the Corona pandemics, Kuang Chung Hsiang (管中祥), professor of the Department of Communication, National Chung Cheng University, was invited to give a talk themed “Panic and floating wood, fake news in the chaotic era”. He shared how to improve the ability to speculate information, when sources of messages are uncertain in the pandemic time. This is specially to improve the ability of the elders to examine media and news, not to become victims of fake news by spreading them. (4) Lecturers from professional fields, including nutrition, sports and sleeps were invited to give 30-minute simulation teaching lessons respectively and gave the participants interesting and helpful learning experience.

Also, this conference was combined the usage of LINE and Wooclap to digitalize meeting schedules, presentations, lists of participants and Q&A, and to design instant learning experience. The participants could interact in the meantime and experience the learning methods in the future.
