Course Registration Regulations & Notes:

Students must complete a minimum of 24 credits for the entire program (excluding the dissertation).

Article 14 of the University Academic Regulations: The total number of credits general graduate students may take per semester is stipulated as follows: Ph.D. students must take no less than 6 credits per semester during their first academic year, and no less than 3 credits per semester during their second academic year.

Taking "Independent Study" must be discussed with the advisor. It may be elected over different semesters, up to a maximum of two times.

Credits earned from lower-level courses offered by other institutes will not be counted towards graduation credits.

Graduates from institutes other than Adult Education or Senior Education must take at least 9 credits of make-up elective courses from this department's Master's program. These credits will not be counted towards the graduation credit requirement. The make-up courses must include "Research on Adult and Senior Education." Additionally, students who have not previously taken statistics-related courses must take a course equivalent in nature to "Educational Statistics and Computer Applications" offered within or outside the institute. Joint Master's/Ph.D. courses may be recognized as either make-up courses or Ph.D. program courses, but not both simultaneously.

Course instructors (including dissertation advisors) must have held the qualification of Associate Professor for at least three years.
