Assisted the Conceptualization of Important Policies: 2020 Summit of Education for The Elderly of the Ministry of Education


The Department of Adult and Continuing Education, Chung Cheng University has been helping hold the Inter-ministerial Conference on Senior Policy Roundtable Forum for the Ministry of Education between June and November 2020. It aims to coordinate the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Ministry of Education to design and execute their common policies. All the meetings invited scholars and representatives of both two ministries.
This project, conducted by our professor Hu Meng-Ching (胡夢鯨), discussed issues including education for the elderly, human resources from the elderly and collective creations between youth and retirees. The topics also cover education, safety and rights of learning that age institutes have been facing, with the aim to properly use and coordinate resource among different fields. It can help the elderly in the communities extend their third age through education and learning and reduce burdens of long-term care at their fourth age. The senior learners can have a good, long, happy and confident life and be indeed active aging.
