About the Speaker
Chiayi Outsider (Sun Yu-Ching)

“Chiayi Outsider” (嘉義異鄉人) is a well-known regional revitalization and cultural community brand founded by Sun Yu-Ching (Joanna), an arts manager who moved from Taipei to Chiayi. Drawing on her outsider’s perspective and her professional background in design, she uses illustrated posts and projects to document Chiayi’s everyday food, temple culture, and street-corner stories. She is the author of Domestic Migrant: A Delicious New Life in Chiayi (《島內移民：移住嘉義美味新人生》) and The Gods Want Me to Live in Chiayi (《神明要我住嘉義》).

About the Lecture
Under the theme “Social Curation and Local Practice,” this lecture invites the audience to consider how, in the face of an unpredictable future, we can apply our own knowledge and skills to develop solutions that are both creative and practical.

Building on the speaker’s hands-on experience as Chiayi Outsider, the lecture will explore cross-disciplinary curation, regional revitalization, and strategic marketing, examining how to interpret local culture and connect communities. We hope it will spark imagination and action among the next generation!
